2020 Miss Candidate Information
Age & Residency Requirements:

Between the ages of 18-25
-
A U.S. citizen and resident of NC
-
Possess good moral character No criminal record
-
Must attend school, live, or work in Wilson, Nash, Edgecombe, Lenoir, Greene, Pitt, Franklin, Wayne, Johnston, or Wake counties.
Residency Requirements Include:
-
The prior six-month residency requirement has been reduced to thirty (30) days prior to a local competition.

They have eliminated the requirement to complete at least one semester and allowing college/university acceptance and enrollment to physically attend classes.
-
They have reduced the twenty-six weeks of full-time employment to sixty (60) days of continuous employment.
-
Consistent with prior years, the eligibility must be maintained to continue competing at the next level of competition and/or holding a title.

Meet the character criteria has set forth by the Miss America Organization.

Be in reasonably good health and able to meet the job requirements.

Be able to meet the time commitment and responsibilities as set forth by the Miss Wilson Scholarship Organization-

Be single and have never been married

Platform/Social Initiative:

Must be actively involved or developing a social impact initiative (platform)
Examples: Heart Association, Promoting Arts Education, Bullying, etc.
Phases of Competition:

Personal Interview - 35%

On-Stage Interview/Social Impact Initiate - 15% Miss Contract Information (Please Read):
In the header, use "Miss North Carolina" for organization.Section 2 - It is extremely
important as to how you complete this section.
- Section 2.2 must be completed by all candidates.
- Section 2.3 you must complete one of the three options:
-Section 2.3.1. - If you are claiming residency as your requirement to compete.
-Section 2.3.2 - If you are claiming the student status as your requirement to
compete.
- Section 2.3.3 - If you are claiming employment status as your requirement to
compete.

Approval of Application and Contract for Participation (pg. 17)
- If this is you first Local of the Season, you must complete the "Approval of First Entered Local
Competition" section.
- If you do not win the first Local Preliminary and you are competing in a different Local
Preliminary you do not need to complete the full contract again.
- Go to pg. 18 and complete the "Approval for Subsequent Entered Local Competition
' section.
- If a Local asks you to complete a new contract but you still have available sections, please
have the local ED contact their Field Director for clarification.
